# Mare breeding plan

Shows all breeding plans for the selected mare, organized by year.
## Reading the Mare breeding plan
- **Number**: the plan's sequence number for that year.
- **Agent / Insemination-station**: the contact that arranged the insemination (or “-” if none).
- **Usage type**: abbreviation of the semen usage (AI, ET, ICSI).
- **Stallion**: name of the stallion used (or “-” if not set).
- **Status**: current result – Pregnant, Barren or Unknown.
- **No breeding plans found for this year**: shown when there are no plans for the selected year.
- **(clipboard icon)**: marks each breeding plan entry.
- **(caret icon on small screens)**: indicates the row can be opened.
## View a breeding plan
1. Tap a year button (e.g., 2024) to display plans for that year.
2. Click any part of a row (or the clipboard/caret icon) to open the plan details page.
## Add a breeding plan
1. Press **Add** (plus icon) in the tile header.
2. Fill in the fields in the pop‑up form and press **Save**.
## Good to know
- The tile only appears when your organisation has the breeding module enabled.
- It is only visible if you have permission to manage horses, which also shows the **Add** button.
- Breeding plans are only available for mares; other horses show a note instead.

## Breeding plan {#save-breeding-plan}

Use this form to add a new breeding plan or edit an existing one for a mare.

### Mare
- Pick the mare for the plan (shown only when the mare isn’t pre‑selected).

### Usage type
- Choose AI, ET or ICSI. Selecting ET/ICSI shows extra fields.

### Role of the mare
- For ET/ICSI pick Biological (egg donor) or Carrying (will carry embryo).

### Carrying mare
- Shown when the role is Biological; pick the mare that will carry the embryo.

### Biological mare
- Shown when the role is Carrying; pick the mare that supplies the egg.

### Stallion
- Optionally select a stallion; leave empty for AI.

### Agent / Insemination‑station
- Optionally choose the contact that supplied the semen.

### Semen type
- Pick Fresh, Frozen, Undiluted or Deep Horn; unavailable options are disabled.

### Studbook
- Optionally select a studbook.

### Status
- Set status to **Pregnant**, **Barren** or **Unknown**.

### After saving
- The plan is saved, appears in the mare’s breeding‑plan list and auto‑enables the mare.
