Use the edit and import actions to add or correct ancestor information. ## What's on this page - **Pedigree**: visual family tree; on narrow screens it appears as a vertical list instead of the horizontal chart. - **Edit**: (only if you have permission to manage horses) opens a form where you can fill the fields **Sire**, **Sire sire**, **Sire dam**, **Sire grandsire**, **Sire granddam**, **Dam**, **Damsire**, **Dam dam**, **Dam grandsire**, **Dam granddam**; tap **Save** to store, **Cancel** to discard. - **Import from Horse‑telex**: (only if you have permission) opens a dialog that searches the external Horse‑telex database, shows a list of matching **Pedigree** entries, lets you navigate with **Previous** and **Next**, and apply the chosen one with **Import**. ## Common tasks ### View a horse’s pedigree 1. Open the horse’s details and go to the **Pedigree** page (you are already here). 2. Look at the family tree displayed; on a phone it will be a vertical list. ### Edit a horse’s pedigree 1. Tap **Edit**. 2. Fill any of the ancestor fields (**Sire**, **Sire sire**, …, **Dam granddam**) as needed. 3. Tap **Save** to keep the changes or **Cancel** to ignore them. ### Import a pedigree from Horse‑telex 1. Tap **Import from Horse‑telex**. 2. In the dialog, pick a pedigree from the list (use **Previous** / **Next** to change pages if needed). 3. Tap **Import** to copy that pedigree onto the horse. ## Good to know - The **Edit** and **Import from Horse‑telex** buttons only appear when you are allowed to manage horses. - On small screens the pedigree automatically switches to a vertical list for easier reading. - Adding “#setup” to the page URL opens the **Setup pedigree** dialog automatically, letting you enter ancestors for a new horse. - The import dialog only lists results that contain both a sire and a dam; if none match you’ll see the message “We did not found a match in the HorseTelex database”.
