# Location

This page shows the core data and address of a location (e.g. a stable). Use it when you need to view or edit the location’s details.

## What's on this page
- **General**: name, phone number, UBN, parent stable, and (if the shop & breeding module is active) breeding flags and default shipping method.
- **Address**: street + house number, address line 2, postcode, city, state, country.

## Common tasks
### Update the location’s general information
1. Click the **Edit** button on the **General** tile.
2. In the **Update location** modal edit the fields you need (Name, Phone number, UBN, Parent stable, breeding options, shipping method).
3. Click **Save** to apply the changes.

### Update the address of the location
1. Click the **Edit** button on the **Address** tile.
2. Fill in the address fields in the **Update contact address** modal.
3. Click **Save**.

### View parent stable and breeding settings
1. Look at the fields in the **General** tile; **Parent stable** shows the linked stable, and the breeding flags (**Semen collection station**, **Agent / Insemination‑station**, **Default shipping method**) are visible only when the shop & breeding module is enabled.

## Good to know
- Breeding‑related fields only appear if your organisation uses the shop & breeding module.
- The **Edit** buttons are only visible if you have permission to edit locations.
- While data is loading each tile shows a spinner; you can edit only after loading finishes.
- The **Street** line combines the street name and house number from the contact data.

## Update contact address {#update-address}

Use this form to edit a contact’s address (and optionally the Email).

### Email
- Enter the contact’s email address (only required when the system asks for it). It must be a valid email format.

### Country
- Pick a country from the dropdown list; you can start typing to filter the options. Leaving it empty is allowed.

### After saving
- The address (and Email, if changed) is saved and will appear on the contact’s detail page and in any lists showing the contact.

## Update location {#update-location}

This form lets you change a location’s information.

### Parent stable
- Pick the stable this location belongs to; leave empty if the location isn’t linked to a stable. (Only shown when the location isn’t a stable itself.)

### Agent / Insemination-station
- Choose **Yes** if the location is used as an insemination or agent station, **No** otherwise. This flag is used in breeding planning.

### Semen collection station
- Choose **Yes** if the location can collect semen, **No** otherwise. Affects breeding tasks.

### Default shipping method
- Select a shipping product that will be used by default for shipments to this location. If the chosen product can’t ship to the location’s country, a warning appears and you should pick another.

### After saving
- The location is updated instantly and the new details appear on the location’s page.
