Use this page when you need to add a new role, change a role’s rights, or reactivate a hidden role. ## What's on this page - **Permissions**: a table where each row is a part of the app (e.g., horses, invoices) and each column is a role; tick the boxes to give or remove rights. - **Add role** button: opens a dialog to create a new role or edit an existing one. - **Inactive roles** button: appears only when there are hidden roles; opens a dialog to reactivate them. - **There are pending changes** banner: appears after you modify any permission; use **Save** to apply the changes or **Cancel** to discard them. ## Common tasks ### Create a new role and set its permissions 1. Tap the **Add role** button. The **New role** dialog opens. 2. Enter the role’s **Name** and press **Save**. 3. The new role appears as a column in the **Permissions** table; tick the checkboxes for the rights you want. 4. When you have made changes, the **There are pending changes** banner appears – press **Save** there to apply the changes. ### Change the permissions of an existing role 1. Locate the role’s column in the **Permissions** table. (If the column is off‑screen, use the left/right arrow buttons to scroll.) 2. Tick or untick the checkboxes for the actions you want to allow or block. 3. The **There are pending changes** banner appears; press **Save** to confirm or **Cancel** to revert. ### Activate a hidden role 1. Press the **Inactive roles** button (only visible when there are hidden roles). 2. In the **Activate role(s)** dialog, tick the boxes next to the roles you want to reactivate. 3. Click **Activate**. The selected roles now appear as columns on the **Permissions** page. ## Good to know - On small screens only a few role columns are shown; use the left/right arrows to navigate through additional roles. - The **Remove** option in a role’s menu is disabled for built‑in roles; you can only delete custom roles. - If you try to create a role with a name that already exists but is inactive, the dialog will offer to **Activate** that role instead. - Permission changes are only stored after you click the **Save** button in the pending changes banner. ## Activate role(s) {#activate-roles} The Activate role(s) dialog lets you reactivate roles that have been hidden. ### Select roles - Tick the checkboxes next to the roles you want to reactivate; you must select at least one role or an error will appear. ### After saving - The selected roles become active and reappear in the role list as usable; no further notification is sent. ## Role {#save-role} This form lets you create a new role or change an existing role's name. ### Name - Enter the role's name. It must be unique; if you type a name of an inactive role a warning appears. ### Activate inactive role - If the name matches an inactive role, a note appears with the role name and an **Activate** button. Click the **Activate** button and then **Save** (or press Save again) to reactivate it. ### After saving - The role is added to or updated in the role list on the Permissions screen, where you can assign permissions. No other users are notified automatically.
